Rabbi Dr. Abraham Joshua Heschel zt”l was a modern mystic, who saw the world through eyes of wonder, awe, and radical amazement. He brought the World of Spirit into contemporary Jewish consciousness through his God-centered teaching, writings, political activism, and personal magnetism. Rabbi Dosick will tell stories about Dr. Heschel’s life, and journey into his profound legacy through source-texts, chant, and spiritual inspiration.

Rabbi Dosick has served San Diego Jewry for the past 42 years--at Congregation Beth El in La Jolla; as founder of Congregation Beth Am, now in Carmel Valley; as founder of the San Diego Jewish Academy and Community Hebrew High School; and for the past 23 years, The Elijah Minyan. He is well-known for quality scholarship and sacred spirit, his reading of traditional texts for their sense of prophetic social justice, his abiding commitment to utmost the dignity and decency for every human being, and a lifetime of guiding people to a deep, personal, intimate relationship with the Divine.
