Friday, October 26, 2018 • 17 Cheshvan 5779
7:00 PM - 8:30 PMTemple Adat Shalom Marcus SanctuaryJoin us in our beautiful Marcus Sanctuary for Shabbat Shemot--Shabbat of Names. Our tradition recognizes one's Hebrew name as a special way to connect with our faith, our family, and the Jewish people.
Whether you already have a Hebrew name or would like to choose one for yourself, you are invited to join us on Friday, October 26 at 7:00 pm for Hebrew Name Shabbat.
If you don't have a Hebrew name, you can choose one that is meaningful to you--Rabbi David offers guidance in his article in the current Shofar (available here), you can come to Temple to look up names or meet with Rabbi David, or simply go online and Google "Jewish names." So that we can be sure to present you with an appropriate certificate, please call the Temple Office to let us know your Hebrew name.
The service will include a ceremony of acknowledgement and acceptance of attendees' Hebrew names, the opportunity to explore the meaning of your Hebrew name, special music and blessings, all followed by a wonderful oneg.
If you are attending services for the first time, please let us know so we can be sure to welcome you! Call the Temple office at 858.451.1200, or email info@adatshalom.com.
If you are unable to join us in person, join us online! Click here for our streaming Friday evening services.
