Beer and Blessings at Temple Adat Shalom

Come share a fun Saturday evening (or three) with your friends at Temple Adat Shalom. Enjoy a sampling (and a glass or two) of some awesome beer, good food, great friends, all while gathering a bit of knowledge on beer and a Jewish topic connected to beer and/or other blessings.

Our gathering on March 30 will feature a guest presenter from The Lost Abbey Brewery that has tasting rooms in both San Marcos and Cardiff . Different styles of beer will be offered for comparison and tasting. Rabbi David Castiglione will present a short drash on what the Torah and Talmud share on the subject of blessings.

Our menu includes:
Appetizers

Zucchini, Potato and Tomato Casserole  (Ingredients: vegan margarine, onion, potato, zucchini, tomato, salt, pepper, nutritional yeast.)

Sweet Potato Bruschetta (Ingredients: sweet potato, garlic, olive oil, tomato, onion, basil, balsamic vinegar.)

Corn & Red Pepper Chowder (Ingredients: olive oil, onion, red bell pepper, potato, corn, vegetable broth, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, unsweetened almond milk, ground black pepper, salt, scallions.)

Jicama, Mango, Cucumber Salad (Ingredients: jicama, mango, English cucumber, bell pepper, red onion, cilantro, lime, olive oil, salt, chili flakes.)

Vegan “Queso” Dip (Ingredients: cashews, cauliflower, carrot, unsweetened almond milk, vegetable broth, chipotle peppers, mustard powder, white vinegar, garlic, nutritional yeast, olive oil, onion, salt, cumin, black pepper, cayenne, tomato, green chili.)

Crunchy Roasted Peas (Ingredients: peas, olive oil, garlic salt.)

Dessert

Blueberry Crumble (Ingredients: rolled oats, oat flour, almond butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, salt, blueberries, arrowroot, lemon juice.)

Note: All food is gluten free and vegan.  Beer is not gluten free.  The Lost Abbey’s Road to Helles (Munich Style Lager) will be served upon entrance, and The Lost Abbey will present the following beers for tasting: Devotion (Belgian inspired dry hopped blond.); Lost & Found (Abbey Dubbel w/ raisins); Red Barn (Saison w/ginger & spices); Gnoel de Abbey (Holiday Brown Ale); Board Meeting (Coffee Brown Ale w/ cacao nibs); and Dank & Sticky (IPA).
