Climate change from the perspective of the poor by Martin Bunzl, Professor emeritus, Rutgers University.
There are 7.8 billion people in the world.
1.5 billion of us consume 70% of global energy.
I argue that the narrative of climate change, and how to combat it, have been dominated by the perspective of the energy rich, for whom the sacrifices involved are minimal because of our excess energy wealth. Rewriting that narrative from the rest of the world involves difficult tradeoffs that are rarely discussed. – Martin Bunzl
