Our Lay Leaders

Temple Adat Shalom Board of Trustees

President: Hannah Cohen*
Email: president@adatshalom.com

Hannah Cohen and her husband Elliott Edelstein joined Temple Adat Shalom in 1978. In the early years of Temple life, they helped with the Bingo games and numerous
fundraisers. Both served on the BOT. Hannah has served on the BOT several times and is honored to now be Co-President. She is proud to follow in the foot steps of her father, Max Cohen, who was president of a synagogue on Long Island.

Hannah chaired the first Adat Shalom Jewish Food Festival and served on the BOT as
chairperson of the Ways and Means committee. With vast experience in the non-profit world, Hannah intends to utilize her knowledge and lead Temple Adat Shalom to become the center of Reform Jewish life in North Inland San Diego. She wants TAS to become the spiritual, educational, and social home for our congregants, as it is for Elliott and her.

Bob recently retired from a 33 year career as the Owner / Operator of CAPEZIO a local chain of retail dancewear stores.

Bob believes, that although TAS is first and foremost a Spiritual Home, it needs to be run more like a business. Bob plans to apply his skills of fiscal responsibility, strategic planning, and revenue producing ideas to TAS in his current position of V.P. of Finance.

Men's Club Representative: Mark Molbegott
Email: mensclub@adatshalom.com

Mark Molbegott and his wife, Sharon joined Temple Adat Shalom in 1998 to give them and their young daughter, Michelle a way to connect to their Jewish heritage. They immediately joined a Chavurah, which became their adopted family. Sharon joined Sisterhood. Michelle became bat mitzvah 7 years later.

Mark has been extremely active in the Men’s Club since 2006 as Brunch Coordinator and their various other activities. He had limited engagements in the Purim Spiels until he decided to use his talents behind the camera instead. You will see him video recording and/or photographing TAS events such as the Purim Spiels and the Jewish Food Festivals. He has coordinated since 2007 the Men’s Club Torah Book presenters for the b’nei mitzvah students.

Mark worked for San Diego County Child Protective Services for 27 years as a Protective Services Worker and Supervisor. He spent his last 5 years there working on their Help Desk to aid the Social Work staff in using their computers and related software. This included training new Social Workers how to use the unique State specific software for their daily work.

Mark is excited to start his new role as Men’s Club President and TAS Board Member.

Helen Sabo and her family have been members of Temple Adat Shalom since 1997. As the Jewish partner in an interfaith marriage, she was delighted to find a congregation that welcomed her family with open arms and open hearts. Her two children, Katie and Stephen, graduated from Mosad Shalom and the TAS Hebrew for High School Credit program.

She has been involved in Reform Jewish Outreach to interfaith couples, families, and those considering or on the path to conversion for over twenty years, and has served the congregation as Chair of the Outreach Committee, Recording Secretary, Vice President of Membership, and now, Chair of the Membership Committee. The most rewarding aspect of her work on behalf of the congregation is helping others find the same spiritual home and sense of community and family that she and her family have found at Temple Adat Shalom.
