Tikkun Olam Introduction

A synagogue plays many roles in the life of its members and the surrounding community. One of the most compelling of these commitments is that of Tikkun Olam – the repairing of the world. It is a fundamental value of Judaism and one which Temple Adat Shalom views as an essential part of its structure.

Knowing the values of Judaism, our members give of their time, energy, spirit and substance to further the sacred work of tikkun olam, repairing the world in the following ways:

By providing service to the Temple - our members participate on many Temple committees and on our Board of Trustees so that the Temple can continue to provide the best possible programs and services.

By providing service to Temple members in need - the Temple Mitzvah Committee supports our own Temple members who have hardships.

By providing service to the community at large - the Temple Social Action Committee along with the Sisterhood and Men’s Club provides opportunities for Temple members to volunteer for other organizations in the community at large.
