3 Evenings for Non-Jewish Partners

January 30th, February 27th and April 16th from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

A Message From Rabbi David Castiglione...

Dear Friends,

Once, in my former congregation, I took a moment, dedicated a Holy Day sermon actually, to say thank you to those within our congregational family, of different faiths, who nevertheless gave so selflessly of themselves in order to raise a Jewish family, encourage their partner in the pursuit of his or her Judaism, and in such a large way contribute as full partners in our congregational enterprise.

It is a sentiment that I had long held, especially given my own family history, and in truth, it has only grown stronger as I have come to love and embrace all who are a part of our Adat Shalom family. With this in mind, and in partnership with our Outreach Committee, I would personally like to extend an invitation to all those of our congregation, with a different faith tradition, to come and meet, to share and learn in three separate sessions. January 30th, February 27th and April 16th from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

We'll talk about being a part of a Jewish home and raising Jewish children; balancing the religious concerns of both sets of grandparents; where your needs fit in; determining whether and how to celebrate non-Jewish holidays in the home; understanding the various Jewish positions on life cycle events and holidays to better inform your decisions, and most importantly, we will provide an open welcoming environment in which to meet others and share what ever concerns, questions and joys you may have in your very, very special role.

To attend, simply email Fran at the Temple office, fran@adatshalom.com, or give a call, 858-451-1200. You can also address any questions you may have directly to me at rabbic@adatshalom.com. Come as you are, we'll make sure there is plenty to nosh. I look forward to seeing and sharing with you.

Faithfully, David
