The new 2008-2009 Mosad Shalom school year brings promise, hope, enormous opportunity and blessing to our entire community of school families. The promise of a new and innovative education curriulum will be explored in many of our Mosad Shalom classrooms. In addition to our regular curriculum, this year we are adding portions of the Reform movement's outstanding Chai Judaic Curriculum to 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th grades. This program highlights the topics of Torah, Avodah (worship) and Gemilut Hasadim (acts of loving kindness). We will also be introducing the High School Sacred Choices curriculum to 9th graders this Fall. Back by popular demand, will be Menorah Madness, Mitzvah Day School Assembly, Lag B'omer Sports Day, 5/6th Grade Camp Mt. Chai Retreat, 5th Grade Yachad, 7th Grade Sacred Choices, Family Education in ALL grades and much, much more! We hope that our Mosad Shalom school environment will provide for our children's educational, physical and emotional needs and safety and we will work tirelessly to achieve this goal. We will increase efforts to more closely adhere to a Mosad Shalom discipline policy that honors and respects all students and teachers for the common good. We appreciate that with the addition of our new and learned Rabbi David Castiglione to the Mosad Shalom faculty, we have an enormous opportunity to grow and develop our school's religious teaching and practices to even higher levels. The blessing of an experienced, dedicated and committed faculty, ready and happy to welcome your child(ren) on the first day of school, Sunday, September 7, 2008 is priceless. See you in September. B'Shalom. Susan Cohn |
