The Story of Hannah Senesh
Among Israel's most important heroes is Hannah Senesh, who died by firing squad in 1944 at age 23. This first-ever major exhibition tells how this Budapest-born poet, diarist, and author of the hymn Eli, Eli discovered her love for the Land of Israel, how she volunteered for a mission to rescue downed Allied fliers and Jews from Nazi-occupied Hungary, and how she became an enduring symbol of courage and determination.

Flash Mob Israel
Here is what makes modern day Israel so special. Not only historical sites, not only technological inventions, not only a world class defense force, not only political visions. What makes modern day Israel so special is the beauty, energy and exuberance of its youth. And what a better place to display this than on the shores of Hayam Ha-Tichon (the Mediterranean Sea).

Echoes of a Shofar
Under a British law in Palestine passed in 1930, Jews were forbidden to blow the shofar at the Kotel, pray loudly there, or bring Torah scrolls, so as not to offend the Arab population.

Despite this restriction, for the next seventeen years, the shofar was sounded at the Kotel every Yom Kippur. Shofars were smuggled in to the Kotel where brave teenagers defiantly blew them at the conclusion of the fast. Some managed to get away Ð others were captured and sent to jail for up to six months.

Six of these men are still alive.

Two weeks ago, these six men returned to the scene of their "crime". Armed with shofars, they recounted their individual stories and blew shofar again at the Kotel.

This is their powerful and inspiring story.

It's Your Story" - National Museum of American Jewish History
The new National Museum of American Jewish History, opening in November 2010, is dedicated to telling the still-unfolding story of Jews in America, who embraced freedom with its choices and challenges as they shaped and were shaped by our nation. The Museum envisions its new home as a place that welcomes all people, inviting them to discover what they have in common with the Jewish experience in America, as well as to explore the features that make this history distinctive.

Rising five stories above Independence Mall, in the heart of historic Philadelphia, the National Museum of American Jewish History will join Independence Hall, the National Constitution Center, the Liberty Bell and other landmarks at the hallowed site of America's birth. There could not be a more fitting place for a museum that will explore the promise and challenges of liberty through the lends of the American Jewish experience.

Friday Night Live - Unity Shabbat Service
This recent Shabbat unity service is marked by music, song & a brief drasha from Newsweek's #1 Pulpit Rabbi, David Wolpe. The service honoring Martin Luther King features Jewish entertainer Craig Taubman, Reverend Mark Whitlock & the COR AME Choir.

Rabbi David Wolpe and Craig Taubman created a monthly Shabbat service designed to bring young Jewish professionals together to celebrate Shabbat. Blending traditional prayers with inspiring speakers and joyful music, this service regularly attracts 1000 people to Sinai Temple. FNL's success has been emulated at numerous congregations across the country and continues to attract dynamic speakers such as Elie Weisel, Rev. Rick Warren and David Kohan (Exec. Prod./Co-Creator of Will & Grace). Our musical guests range from Theodore Bikel, Hip Hop Shabbat and Gospel Choirs. But what makes the FNL experience truly special is the congregation that comes together to share Shabbat as a community.

God Almighty When Will It End?
One of the most challenging questions facing the younger Jewish generation is how to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive. Not too far in the future, there will no longer be "Holocaust Survivors" alive on earth to tell their stories. It will be left to the next generation to tell the story in their own manner. Many young Israelis have been experimenting with new, alternative Holocaust memorial services, which to the older generation seem highly non-traditional, and even at times offensive, yet they nevertheless are sincere attempts to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive, and make its message relevant to the younger generation.

This year, Grammy award winning Israeli violinist Miri Ben-Ari and Israeli rap/hip-hop star Kobi "Subliminal" Shimoni have co-produced a hip-hop music video expressing their sentiments on the Shoah. It is called "God Almighty When Will it End." I have pasted the "YouTube.com" link below for you to watch it. Before you click and watch, just a few words. Prepare yourselves to see something that is quite non--traditional and that expresses the Shoah in ways that we have never seen before. I am sure that some of you, at first sight and sound, may even find it disturbing. You should know, however, that in Israel, this CD/Video was distributed by the thousands to students in schools, by recommendation, approval and blessing of -- amongst others -- Professor Yehuda Bauer (Israel's leading historian on the Holocaust) and Rabbi Benny Lau (son of Holocaust survivor and former Israeli Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau). As highly traditional people, they both praised this genuine effort make the message of the Holocaust relevant to a disconnected younger generation. In one way or the other, may the memory of the Six Million always remain alive in our hearts and souls, Amen. Rabbi Daniel Bouskila, Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel. (5:06)
