About TAS Introduction

Over thousands of years, the synagogue has endured as the strongest institution in Judaism. At its heart is the commitment to strengthen and replenish the Jewish spirit and to perpetuate its people as one. It is the home of sacred words and values given to us by God, who compels us to teach those values to our children.

For more than three decades, Temple Adat Shalom has served this role for our congregational family and community. Thousands benefit from our myriad programs, each designed to strengthen our ties to the past and our commitment to the future.

It is our mission:
  • To promote the enduring and fundamental principles and teachings of Judaism and to ensure the continuity of the Jewish people.

  • To enable its congregants to develop a relationship to God through communal worship, study, assembly, and deed.

  • To apply the principles of Reform Judaism to the values and conduct of the individual, family, and the society in which we live.

To the families who call Temple Adat Shalom their spiritual home, we are:

A place to learn...
An Early Childhood Education Center, a nationally recognized Religious School, and continuing adult education programs which teach and reinforce our history and future.

A place to celebrate and rejuvenate...
Temple Adat Shalom is a place to recharge, a place to reflect on and celebrate what God has given us, and to energize ourselves for the new challenges and joys that greet us each day.

A place to heal...
Temple Adat Shalom is a place to know that others share our occasional grief and sorrow, and to help us understand that hurt is as much a part of life as happiness.

A place to grow spiritually...
We know the spirit is something that cannot be measured. Yet its strength or weakness is a measure of what we get from life, and what we give to others. Through learning, the spirit grows strong.

A place to appreciate...
Temple Adat Shalom is a place to appreciate the labors of those who came before us, and to see our future in the eyes of our children.
